How do the different physical features of Japan affect where people choose to settle? Compare and contrast various reasons for and against living in a particular area in Japan, such as inland, coastal areas, mountainous terrain, etc.
Japan is very susceptible to many types of natural disasters--volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc. When these disasters occur, in what ways might the economy be affected in those particular areas?
